This summer has been EPIC at my house.
Mont Tremblant for a week with 20 family members, cottage visits with friends, and the four of us just wrapped up a week long trip to Whistler and Vancouver.
And although I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, both my body and my bank account are telling me it’s time to settle back into routine.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the summer, but around mid August I often get the feeling that I need to start getting back to business. This feeling started to creep in towards the end of my trip last week.
I am ready, it’s time to reign it in.
September is NOT CHEAP
And although I would like to believe that the end of summer comes with less expenses, I know better.
September is traditionally one of the most expensive months. We can thank back to school and kid’s activity costs for that.
This September will be particularly challenging for many as rising interest rates, mortgage costs, and inflation have many teetering on the edge when it comes to cash flow.
A plan is imperative
As a money coach, I practice what I preach. So although I am feeling the effects of these costs as well, I have been able to mitigate and plan effectively so that they are more of an annoyance, and less of an emergency.
According to a newly released Manulife survey, approximately 54% of Canadians do not feel great about their financial future, and I am NOT ok with this number.
In my experience, a solid plan for your cashflow can alleviate a lot of the stress and worry over money that you may be feeling.
